What are mental disorders?

There are loads of different mental health disorders people could have and be suffering with. overall there are more than 200 classified forms of mental illnesses. The more common disorders are anxiety, dementia, depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Mental health disorders/illnesses could happen to anyone but the are most common ways an individual could develop a mental health disorder are: ACE's (adverse childhood experiences), which could include abuse, neglect, trauma and more, social isolation or loneliness, experiences such as racism, poverty/dept, bereavement, bullying, physical injury and more.


  • The most common mental disorder or illness are anxiety disorders and depression. 
  • Some people could experience mental health concerns from time to time. But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when there are lots of signs and symptoms that cause stress and possiblt making it harder to do every day tasts.
